Our mission is to advance human health by partnering with research organizations to accelerate the development of tomorrow’s medical breakthroughs.

Connecting patients with the right resources for optimal health outcomes
Stay empowered and stay informed!

Patient Advocacy Services
Our advocacy work is built on one simple truth: patients are the missing voice in research design.
Too often, researchers believe they understand patient needs, but until real patients are pre-screened and engaged, they don’t see the full picture. The reality of day-to-day life, symptom variability, and true eligibility often differs from what’s assumed on paper.
That’s where you come in.
Through confidential, double-blind interviews and pre-screening opportunities, patients have the chance to share their real experiences with the people who have the power to create change, while being compensated for their time and insight.
Your voice helps shape more accurate inclusion and exclusion criteria, ensuring research reflects real-world patients, not just assumptions.
We also encourage patients to explore and pre-screen for as many research opportunities as possible.
By doing so:
-
You are compensated for your time
-
You help improve the accuracy of clinical research with real-world data
-
You gain early insight into emerging treatments
-
And you bring valuable information back to your medical team, allowing you to take a more active role in your care
Because advocacy isn’t passive.
It’s informed. It’s intentional.
And it starts with you.
Stay empowered and stay informed.

Research Support
We partner exclusively with aligned research sponsors to drive medical market research, clinical trials, and studies that move patient care forward, bringing tomorrow’s treatments to patients today.
We don’t just include the patient voice, we protect it and we elevate it.
Because real progress is built on real experiences, not assumptions.
And we go beyond connection.
We support research full circle, giving back to the foundations and organizations that support patients and fuel innovation, creating a continuous cycle of impact, advocacy, and advancement.
Better research. Better access. Real impact.

About Patient Connect and the founder Shannon Coates

Patient Connect ~ Shannon Coates
Shannon Coates
Founder of Patient Connect
My work in clinical research didn’t begin as a career, it began as a necessity.
At 14, I became a caregiver to my single mother during her battle with breast cancer. Years later, after navigating two countries, four states, and over 100 physicians, I was diagnosed with several rare autoimmune condition. (AxSpA, SLE, PsA, IBD, Raynaud's and more). Shortly after, I lost my father to rare small cell lung cancer (SCLC) just three months after diagnosis, and both of my uncles to the same disease (NSCLC).
These experiences shaped how I see healthcare, advocacy, and the urgency behind every patient decision.
I understand what it means to sit on both sides, as a caregiver navigating a fragmented system, and as a patient searching for answers, stability, and better options. I learned early that healthcare is not a one-stop solution, it takes a coordinated, trusted network.
That realization is what led me to become the bridge.
Today, that perspective drives everything I do, for my family, my children, and the communities I serve.
With over 20 years in medical research, I’ve built my career around one core belief:
Research doesn't fail because of one person or site, it fails because we don’t use our entire network, putting patients first. Healthcare and research must evolve to become more patient-centered, more connected, and more compassionate.
Through Patient Connect, I bridge that gap.
I partner with research sponsors, CROs, and clinical sites to bring real patient insight into research design, recruitment, and execution, helping studies move faster, perform better, and ultimately succeed. At the same time, I support patients in accessing medical market research, clinical trials that may offer new possibilities when standard treatments fall short.
My approach goes beyond traditional recruitment. It’s built on intuition, trust, advocacy, and long-standing relationships within patient communities, especially in rare and complex conditions where success requires far more than a database or ad campaign. In the rare communities, it takes a village and support of the community to succeed.
I believe patients should be empowered, informed, and supported throughout their journey, not treated as numbers in a system. Whether I’m helping a sponsor de-risk a study or guiding a patient toward a new opportunity, the mission is the same:
Connect the right patient to the right opportunity, at the right time.
Because behind every study is a person waiting for a better quality of life.
And I don’t stop until we get there.

One thing I would not do is tell the compliance company that this statement alone guarantees TCPA/A2P compliance. Their feedback specifically says your Privacy Policy and Terms need dedicated public URLs, so even with this all-encompassing statement, I would still have your web developer publish it on a dedicated Privacy Policy page and create a dedicated Terms & Conditions/SMS Terms URL if that's a requirement of the carrier registration.
